Thermography can be used to locate building components based on a heat signature. Remodeling contractors need to locate existing components such as infloor heat pipes before drilling or cutting into a concrete floor. General contractors need to verify structural elements such as pilasters or filled headers in CMU walls. Domestic hot water pipes and HVAC ductwork can often times be located in walls and ceilings using infrared technology. In cases where the space is otherwise inaccessible, we can usually find the item in question as long as it can be heated or cooled.
